Ah, who doesn't love an apple pie? Especially when autumn rolls around, with the perfect spices it can really get you in the mood for when the leaves start to turn orange.

Pie and Rolling pin

We've crafted the ultimate apple pie recipe which will trump any store-bought dessert, especially with your very own whipped cream on top of it.

We have been trying to perfect this recipe for so long, and are now so excited to share this with you.

P.S for this recipe we highly recommend not using mushy apples/mushing them up yourself. Perfectly cooked apples are the key to this recipe.

Step 1 - The Crust

This recipe is the perfect one for any kind of pie or tart. We can't get enough of it. Of course, there is always the option to buy ready-made pie crust but you can also make your own pastry with:

  • 225g butter
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 350g plain flour

Beat the butter and sugar in a bowl, break in the eggs and beat it all together again. It will look a tiny bit like cold scrambled eggs at this point. This is when you work in the flour slowly and knead together. Work this dough into a ball, wrap it in clingfilm and chill it for 45 minutes.

The filling

While you're waiting for the pastry to chill, you can prepare your apples. Peel and slice your apples and put them on a baking sheet. Leave them to rest a little bit.

Get another bowl and place 140g of sugar, some cinnamon and flour - this will be used for the apples later.

Putting it all together

Now that the pastry has chilled, pre-heat your oven to 190c. This is an optional step, but you can glaze your pastry with egg white.

Line your pastry tin with the dough - everybody has their own technique for doing this, our top step is to just remember to leave enough for the top and leave a slight overhang.

Pat the apples dry with some kitchen paper and mix them together with the sugar, cinnamon, and flour that you made earlier. Give them a quick mix, and pour them into your tin.

Place the pastry lid over the top and seal the edges together. Bake this for about 40-45 minutes.

The whipped cream

It's time to make the whipped cream, while we are waiting for the pie to bake. After all, what kind of apple pie is served without whipped cream?

We would recommend using a whipping cream dispenser, it's definitely the easiest option and has a lot less hassle.

You'll just need a whipping cream dispenserand a cream charger. Just ass one cup of whipping cream and then two tablespoons of sugar into the dispenser.

Screw the lid on tightly, shake the dispenser, insert the cream charger. If done right, you will get the most beautiful whipped cream!
